This Family History Orientation offers an introduction to the Historical Society’s vast holdings for family history research in South Carolina. Participants will explore a wide range of resources, including family charts, published genealogies, vertical files, church records, and manuscript collections, with special emphasis on unique and distinctive materials available only at the South Carolina Historical Society. The program highlights research strategies and archival sources in their collections that can help uncover family connections, document lineage, and enrich personal and community histories.

Please note that visitors must present government issued identification to obtain a visitor pass for entry to the Addlestone Library.

The Addlestone Library is surrounded by metered street parking and is located within blocks of public garages.
