Presented by SCHS Metadata Specialist, Annette Guild, this program explores the life and legacy of Henry Laurens through his extensive personal, political, and business correspondence held by the South Carolina Historical Society. Participants will learn about Laurens’ rise from Charleston merchant to prominent Revolutionary leader, examine key moments documented in his letters, and consider his complex role in the founding of the nation. The program will also highlight current digitization efforts that are expanding public access to these important historical records and bringing Laurens’ story to new audiences.
