Forest Lake Club History Talk with Randell Jones

Due to unforeseen circumstances, John Slaughter is unable to present on the Battle of Kings Mountain on February 19. However, the Forest Lake Club is proud to host award-winning author and storyteller, Randell Jones, as an equivalent! His books include, Before They Were Heroes at King’s Mountain and A Guide to the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail. He is a past-president of the Overmountain Victory Trail Association and consulted for a decade with the National Park Service in promoting the development of that national historic trail. Since 2007, Randell has served as an invited member of the Road Scholars Speakers Bureau of the North Carolina Humanities Council. He speaks regionally on the American Revolution and the life of Daniel Boone, especially now as we are in the halo of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. He is the creator and editor of the newly launched (and under continuing development) Becomingamerica250.com.
