“Art and the American Revolution”
Presenter: Dr. Elizabeth Chew
In this program, participants will examine the ways that artists depicted the American Revolution both while it was happening and after independence was won. We will consider the images that were available to newly minted Americans so that they could envision the war and its heroes. We will end by looking at the ways the Revolution was remembered fifty years later as the nation headed towards Civil War.
This is a free program. Lunch and beverages will be provided. Please note any dietary restrictions in the “Additional Comments” box at the bottom of this page.
This program is funded by the SC250.
