These Walls Talk: An Architectural Tour of the Fireproof Building

Join SCHS’s Education Coordinator, Melina Testin, on Friday afternoons at 2:00pm for a special 45 minute guided tour of the historic Fireproof Building! Walk in the footsteps of Robert Mills, Charleston native and America’s first born-and-trained architect, along the vaulted passageways and winding staircases of a building that has witnessed nearly two centuries of Charleston history.

There will not be tours on October 4th or October 11th, but please join us when tours resume on October 18th!

Tickets for this tour are $5/person and are available for purchase in-person at the SCHS Museum. Check in at the museum desk, and the tour will begin promptly at 2:00pm in the front courtyard! This guided tour is limited to the first 10 guests. To reserve a spot, contact Melina at melina.testin@schsonline.org or (843) 723-3225 x120.

The architectural tour includes access to the galleries of the South Carolina Historical Society Museum, which may be explored independently 10am-4pm.

To schedule a private tour for a large group, please contact Melina at melina.testin@schsonline.org or (843) 723-3225 x120.
